Geological Guide to Portishead


(Black Rock Dolomite) - 2004

The Black Rock Dolomite is a very hard bed which looks like concrete. There are verious colours and large blocks can be found around Battery Point.



(Lower Limestone Shale) - 2004

The fossils are found in the Lower Limestone Shale, rocks are exposed on the foreshore and there are cliff sections well exposed at Battery Point (above)
